EXTRA CURRICULAR

ACTIVITIES

On Targa Campus

We offer an after school childcare program from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. except Wednesdays. Priority is given to parents who both work.

In addition to this, one to two workshops per week will also be offered after school for 3-6 year olds, at the start of the 2021-2022 school year, if the health context allows it.

On Agdal Campus

A sibling after school childcare program is open exclusively to families with children in both 3-6 and 6-12 environments.

Many extra-curricular activities will be offered at the start of the 2021-2022 school year for 3-6 year olds and 6-12 year olds, if the health context allows it again, such as koding, chess, cooking, sophrology, plastic arts, soccer or martial arts.

 SCHOOL EVENTS

Our community meets regularly for events that punctuate the school year. By creating links between school and family environment, we develop a family spirit and a harmonious atmosphere around the child. Parents therefore have the regular opportunity to get involved in school life.

School trips and projects

  • School trips

School trips are organized during the year, for children 3 years old and up. Field trips help to give meaning to learning by promoting direct contact with the natural or cultural environment, and confronting the learning with reality.

For Elementary children, school trips support a studied theme. Field trips are one of the best tools that we can use to provide children with real-world experiences. Whether it's a trip to a library, a farm, a museum, a theater, a bank or to the local grocery store, each experience that the child participates in contributes to a understanding of the world.

Linguistic and cultural exchanges are also first-hand experiences which constitute a valuable and effective mean of discovering cultural similarities and differences.

  • The MMUN program

Children ages 9 to 12 have the opportunity to participate in the annual Montessori Model United Nations Conference, and act as Montessori representatives of the United Nations. This exceptional program helps children to realize that they can have an impact on the world they live in and make it a better place. The resolutions that are voted by the children during their collaborative work at this conference are then transmitted to the United Nations.

  • The end of year show

During this event, which closes the school year, the children showcase all the work carried out during the year with their music teacher and their Montessori educators in artistic expression. This performance is also an opportunity for children to share with their parents their pleasure of singing, playing music, dancing or doing theater. They also develop their confidence by performing from an early age in front of an audience.

Social events

Night on campus promotes social interaction and allows Elementary students to develop strong bonds with the Montessori community.

Culture day allows our multicultural team and our international families to share the customs of their country of origin and to learn from the diversity of our community.

The potluck allows families to get together and discuss around the activities offered by the children.

Theme days: In order to make children aware of important social issues, we invite them to reflect, during group projects, on their role to play as future citizens of the world

Holidays camps

During each holiday period and during the month of July, weekly camps are offered. Different themes are offered, always with the objective of allowing children to take pleasure in learning through play and fun activities.

Examples of holiday camps: Winter crafts, Spring Fun time, Adventure Time, Inventors and their work, Simple machines, the Artists and their work, Mini Chefs workshop, ...
